I think this is totally adorable:
I would upcycle a can as the base, then hot glue the pencils around and use a polka dot ribbon to tie the whole thing together.
Of course, the fake flowers would have pens attached at the bottom because we supplies should serve multiple purposes :)
Plus, no ten year old boy is going to want to steal a flower pen :)
